When you're feeling a bit flat or life is feeling a bit "heavy", you might like to try one (or some) of the following suggestions....
- Limit time exposed to media (news, gossip magazines, talk-back radio, current affairs)
- Play your favourite music & dance around your living room!
- Try something new (draw or paint, start a new hobby or try a new walking route)
- Change up your routine a little (if you usually have coffee first thing… try doing a few yoga stretches first or having green tea instead)
- Call someone you’ve been thinking about, but haven’t spoken to for a while
- Go through one (or all) of your cupboards or wardrobes & give away things or clothes you don’t need anymore
- Watch a funny movie or tv series (‘Vickor of Dibly’ is great for a laugh!)
- Go for a walk or a bike ride in nature
- Read an inspiring book. Some suggestions below;
- Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff - (Richard Carlson)
- The Art of Happiness - (Dalai Lama)
- Flow - (Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi)
- A New Earth - (Eckhart Tolle)
- The Power of Now - (Eckhart Tolle)
- Happy for No Good Reason - (Swami Shankarananda)
- The complete Buddhism for Mothers – (Sarah Napthali)
